This chessboard was commissioned as a bespoke wedding gift, designed to be both a striking work of art and a functional heirloom. Composed of 64 perfectly cut blocks of ash wood, the board features a refined checkered pattern, enhanced by the contrast of the end grain positioning and the precise staining. This detail adds depth and richness to the overall design, elevating the visual impact of the board.

The chessboard sits atop a solid walnut base, offering not just beauty but practical functionality. The base is designed with custom-cut compartments to securely store the chess pieces when not in use. The client selected the chess pieces, and we ensured they were housed with precision, in keeping with the bespoke nature of the entire piece.
